Welcome to the life
of Martin
Roestenburg, the Dutch artist who in 1951 carried his family
across the world to New Zealand, in search of a new beginning.
Tireless
work in a shortened life developed his incredibly diverse artistic
talents through a range of unique creations. Perhaps best known for a huge lump of plaster and wood on a hill above
Paraparaumu, New Zealand, the complexities of his work are only now being
explored further and appreciated.
This site provides some glimpses of a colourful and dedicated life.
